Movie Review

This movie were adopted from a novel by Henry James, Washington Square which tell us about a couple with a complication relationship. The woman really like the man. But as the woman’s father thought, the man only wants her money. But actually they’re really in love. At the end, the couple were not married.

The difference between the real story and the story in this movie is the setting, the real story was taken in New York and in the movie taken in Malang. Also the timing and the age of the characters changed younger than the real story. The cast’s name also adjusted to Indonesian name. Below are the cast:

The story begin when Rara & Yani attend Lea’s party. Lea come over Rara with a man named Indra. Start from here, Rara & Indra interested in each other. They become a lover. But, Rara’s father, Bambang, don’t like Indra and disagree if Rara want to married with Indra because he thinks Indra only want Rara’s money. Rara forced her father and finally she get engaged with Indra. But at the end, Indra cancelled their plan because Rara decided to leave her father and her money to marry with Indra, it makes Indra don’t want to marry Rara anymore because actually he want Rara’s money. Years later, Bambang died and Indra come back to see Rara, he asked for apology and ask Rara to married but Rara refused it because she’s still disappointed with what Indra have done to her in the past.

                      This movie will be released soon after our final exam ends on May 2013.

After reading the novel, I think it’s a new experience to play a character which has some differences with my real character.

Indra Bere.

A new citizen in Malang, he just stopped from his job and he want to find a rich woman to marry; Rara Raharjo’s lover.

iii.            What is the character of this cast?

Such a liar, kind and smart man.

iv.           What do you feel about this character?

Happy, because I can get new experience.

Rara Raharjo’s father, a doctor in the town.

A good man, stubborn and protective.

A poor widow, her husband passed away and now she lived in Bambang Raharjo’s house.

Yani’s character is the same with my real character, I hope I can be as good as the real character that have been told in the story.
